8 Things About Me I Have Discovered

1.) I love to travel. But, I’m just too damned tired to do it like I did for 35 years as an over-the road trucker.

2.) I like making new friends, and I like being with old friends. But, I like living alone. I especially like having no one to rely on my for their livelihood.  am a decent cook, but prefer not to cook much since there is only me.

3.) I love children. I cannot go anywhere without paying more attention to the children around me that I do to the adults. I believe this is due to my profession keeping me away from my own children so much that my relationships with them have suffered tremendously.

4.) I missed my calling in life as a teenager. Although I would have probably lived a shorter life due to drugs and booze, I was a natural for playing music. I am now, at 64, chasing a dream that is not so big, but it does involve music.

5.) Photography is my passion, my hobby, and a way of making money for myself. It is a passion that I cannot give up. But, I know that I must make changes in my life in order for my photography to become a successful business.

6.) I love animals. I would love to have dogs, cats, and other pets around me. But, for their sake, I don’t. I do not like to see any animal caged, or tied up. This is what our society requires today. Humanity can be so ugly.

7.) I have many conservative views. I have almost as many liberal views. I am an independent libertarian, I think.

8.) I claim to hate "PEOPLE", but I will do my best to help anyone who is trying to help themselves.

To The Woodshed

I remember crystal clear

The times I had to face the fear

When my Momma used to take me
                E
To the woodshed.

She would grab me by the ear,

Drag me screaming out in fear,

As, I begged her not to take me
                 A
To the woodshed..

When my dad came home at night

Mom would tell him what I’d done

And, I’d pray he wouldn’t take me
                E
To the woodshed.

Knowin’ if I he did not laugh

That my bottom would be red

I prayed to God I would not go
                 A
To the woodshed.

When I grew up to be a man,

I swore that I would never have

A child that I would have to take
                E
To the woodshed.

But that son of mine was more,

Than a man had patients for.

Many times I took him out
                 A
To the woodshed.

Now those days they are all gone.

And, he has children of his own.

And, I know he has to take them
                 E
To the woodshed.

Now I find that there is more,

and there are better reasons for,

Me to take a trip on out
                 A
To the woodshed.

With this world in such a mess,

It puts my brain to the test.

I find myself headin’ out
                E
To the woodshed.

Where I find shelter from the pain

From a world that's gone insane,

And, I love to take myself out
                A
To the woodshed.

The Biggest Mistakes Made When Booking Hotels

By

Expert Author Antoinette Ayana
It's time for vacation planning and you are looking at the available hotels in your destination area. Which one is going to be best for you? If you are planning to visit the beach, or perhaps even another country, it pays to spend some extra time considering all of your options. What you may find is that some locations are simply ideal. You may fall in love with the hotel so much so that you come back to it time and time again. If that sounds good, but you are not sure how to find a facility like that, consider a few of the mistakes people often make when booking them.
You Don't Consider Location
One of the biggest mistakes you can make when selecting hotels is simply not looking at the location of the building. You can do this, often, by using a map locator for the address of the facility. Where is the building exactly? If you want a beach hotel, for example, you don't want one that's two streets away from the sand and surf. You want one that's right there, close to it all.
You Think Cheaper Is Better
It is common for people to book facilities that are less expensive, because they want to have more money in their pocket when they are checking out the area. While that may be the case, you could very well end up in a room without a view, with a bed that seems as though it is made of stone, and with limited access to any of the attractions you plan to visit. Cheaper is not always better. In fact, it could cost you the success of your trip, especially if you wake up each morning with a sore back.
You Didn't Ask About the Deals
Don't fail to look at the hotels offering packages or discount off deals. Though you may be using one of the travel sites to track down the best offers, don't assume they are. Rather, visit the website of the hotel. Find out what package offers are available. Sometimes these can combine your hotel, airline accommodations, as well as a rental care for a 30 or more percent off discount. If you need those items anyway, why not save on them.
Not all hotels are the same. Many offer more amenities and features than others do. You may want to consider the way a room looks, or the amount of space you will have. Whatever you do, don't just pick one. Take some time to consider what the facility can offer to you. It will be worthwhile to put a few extra minutes into this process.

Las Vegas Vacation Resources

Looking at the Rio Hotel/Casino from my room in the City Center.
**********

The following is a short list of some of the publications I plan to submit work to "IF" I move to Vegas. There are others there, but these are the ones that I mostly keep track of as they are good sources of info for locals and tourist who want to know what is going on all over the city of Las Vegas. These publications can be picked up at most busy convenience stores in town. They are excellent resources to help you plan your next Nevada vacation.

1.) Seven: I believe this weekly publication hits the newstands every Wednesday, and suggest shows, attraction and things to do and see over the next 7 days.

I am not sure why the photos disappeared from my blog. I will look into it. This post, and the previous post are simple tests to see if the engine for this blog is working. If I get a photo I suppose it means that whatever went wrong is now repaired on the Blogger end, but something will need to be done on my end. Hmmm!

If anyone knows the problem please inform me as to what I can do tor get my photos back.
