This song is to let al-Qaeda know we are on their tail, and we won't quit until they all dead. The song should be played with a strong Native American drum and bass emphasis to get a haunting feel. It is in 4/4 time. You can experiment with the "red" G to see if you like it better. I think I do. It may depend on the singer. I am working on a lead guitar part for the song. Basic notes from the singer work well for most of the lead parts, but I would like to give it an extra punch. Bass should be straight forward to get the real feel for what I want. Missing and Exploited Children

I am a bit fuzzy minded theses days. So, at the moment all names are escaping me. But, I woke up thinking about the little girl in Florida that went missing a few years back. Her body has been found, and her mother is facing murder charges. But, I still think I saw that little girl with a Mexican man and woman one day (yes, before her body was found) sitting in a truck at the Little America Hotel/Truck Stop in Flagstaff, Arizona. I did call the police about it, but I doubt if anything was ever done. I still believe it was her. And, I believe there is a 50/50 chance that her mom was involved in whatever happened to the girl. Personally, I believe that the majority of missing children that are not taken by relatives are sold into slavery outside of the United States. One other alternative is one that I don't even want to discuss.

Please be aware that runaway children can and do become a part of these statistics.

Truckers can and do make a difference. I have witnessed, and been a part of stopping this kind of stuff. So, if you see anything suspicious please make a call to the nearest local police. Help them do their job.

Bigotry and Prejudice

The federal government allows for a National Black Police Association and has an office called the Council on Women and Girls. Why is there no Fraternal Order of White Police and no office called Council on Men and Boys? The police association was started back in 1972 when several officials from 13  African American Peace Associations met in St. Louis. On March 11, 2009, President Obama signed an Executive Order creating the White House Council on Women and Girls. Now, what I’m thinking is simply that there needs to be something sponsored by a government that was started by white men for white men. How about the “New Fraternal Order of White Basketball Players, or The American Tea Party for White Men and Boys? What I’m really worried about is when the constitutional amendment will be proposed that will nullify my vote.

Human Trafficking Consequences

The words "human trafficking" has a broader meaning than it did just a few years ago. That is not to say that a few years ago the problem did not exist.  But today, when you talk of human trafficking, you are talking about a broad range of subjects that were not considered as part of one major problem.  Indentured servitude is a major part of what is considered the slavery problem, and thus the human trafficking problem of today. But, it does not take much thought to realize that, no matter how you slice the pie, slavery is slavery.

They are trapped in lives of misery—often beaten, starved, and forced to work as prostitutes or to take grueling jobs as migrant, domestic, restaurant, or factory workers with little or no pay. We’re working hard to stop human trafficking—not only because of the personal and psychological toll it takes on society, but also because it facilitates the illegal movement of immigrants across borders and provides a ready source of income for organized crime groups and even terrorists.

In my travels there have been several instances when I knew that the girls working the lots at truck stops and public rest areas were not runaways whose predicament was forcing them into prostitution. There were instances when it was apparent that the childs parents were involved. I will only say that a few years back truckers had a different way of settling the matter. After we took our turns with the abusers we would turn them over to the police. Those abusers seemed to have a bad habit of falling down stairs. Just bad balance, I guess.

New Task Force Aims to Fight Human Trafficking in Texas

Human trafficking in Texas is nothing new, but the state's previous efforts to end this practice have fallen short. To address the continuing problem, Texas Attorney General Greg Abbot recently announced the creation of a new task force, which he says, "will take an aggressive stand against human traffickers, who have turned Texas into a hub for international and domestic forced labor and prostitution rings."
A big part of the problem is that victims of human trafficking crimes often do not realize that they are being exploited. From dishwashers to prostitutes, many believe they are working off debt. The Texas Human Trafficking Prevention Task Force aims to raise awareness of the issue, eliminate the demand for this kind of labor, understand the routes traffickers use, and report statistics.

Texas and Human Trafficking
Each year, 800,000 people become human trafficking victims and are transported across international borders. According to the Texas Attorney General, 20 percent of those people pass through Texas.
Texas was one of the first states in the U.S. to recognize human trafficking as a crime in 2003. Since then, Houston and El Paso have been cited by the U.S. Department of Justice as the places where human trafficking is most prominent.

What the Task Force Hopes to Accomplish
According to Abbot, the task force "will coordinate, fortify and expand law enforcement tools to prosecute traffickers and help better identify victims of 'modern-day slavery."
As human traffickers naturally move around, intelligence on their activities needs to move with them. The Texas Human Trafficking Prevention Task Force aims to connect law enforcement in different Texas cities. In addition, members of the task force will be made up of law enforcement, social services workers and officials from NGOs.

The Power of Yes and No

Without the slightest explanation people who thrive on chaos fully understand the word "yes". They have to be showed time and again what the word "no" means.

The David Hartley Story - a possible scenario

While I will not state an opinion as to the truth behind the David Hartley story, I will say that evidence now points to the truth of Mrs. Hartley's story. And, as an American, I prefer to believe Mrs. Hartley. You can call the shooters pirates if you want to. However, pirate is a word that is used to describe a thief whose turf is the open seas. Perhaps a better description of the men who attacked the Hartley's would simply be gang members from south of the border. Because the incident happened on water it may be called an act of piracy. In reality, perhaps it was gang members, or maybe even "wanna be" gang members out to prove their value to a Mexican gang. In all probability David Hartly has been murdered, and his jet sky was taken as booty. This could even have been done as an initiation into a gang. Now, those who committed the crime are hiding behind the protection of a gang that is affiliated with a drug cartel. And, the Mexican authorities do not have the balls to go in after the perpetrators of the crime.

           Thank you for contacting me regarding safe parking facilities for commercial truck drivers.

           H.R. 2156, known as "Jason's Law", was recently introduced by Representative Paul Tonko (D-NY) and was referred to the House Subcommittee on Highways and Transit where it awaits further action. 

           H.R. 2156 would allocate funds to states and municipalities to establish long-term parking facilities for commercial vehicles, especially in areas with a severe shortage of truck parking capacity. As a Member of the House Highways and Transit Subcommittee, I am dedicated to working with my committee colleagues to ensure safety and efficiency for all travelers on our nation's highways. I am in the process of examining this legislation and will keep your comments in mind as the committee moves forward.

Decision Made - Songs Deleted

Yep. I have just deleted all 5 of the songs that I have written in the past month. Well, four this month and one back in the last century. I am searching for a more appropriate way to post them while protecting my copyright. I have no idea whether I can ever sell any of them or not. But, my work in photography has taught me the value of copyright protection. The photo files that I post are not large enough to be on any monetary value to a would be publisher. The written word is a bit different.

Anyway, what's done is done. If I can't find a better way, and still want to share them, I will re-post them.

Where the "But, ---" Stops

Sample A:
A man takes the time to file and get the proper papers. He legally flies overseas (or steps across the border) and finds work in a my country. He keeps the papers he filed for in legal order, and available at all times. He works, pays taxes, and lives a clean life. This man should be allowed to stay in my country as long as his papers are legal. I have no problem with that, because that means there are no problems in his country. As a country the United States has a system which legally allows a certain number of foreign nationals into this country to work.
This man does not need my help.

Sample B:
A man climbs a fence, rows a boat, swims a river, or bails out of a plane. He lands in my country and takes a job from me or my neighbor. If he files a tax return it is under someone elses name. He takes the refund if tax laws allow for it. He starts using another new name if no refund comes back to him. In other words -  he pays no taxes. This man has been breaking the law from the get-go. If he stepped into my house uninvited I would have the right to shoot him. And, I would, a dozen times over.
This man needed my help, but chose to commit crimes against me instead.

Butt, ----

If the man in "sample B" would have asked me for help I would try to help him make his homeland a better place to live "if" he would stand and fight beside me. That way he would not have to steal from me. He could stay at home with his family, and the world would be better off.

But, if that man crosses the threshold uninvited into my home I will blow his friggin' head off, cut his nuts out, stuff them "UP" his throat, and send him home to momma.


And , the part about standing beside me while I fight for you, my friends, is the reason why I am ready to bring my brothers and sons home from the mid-east. And, it is why that damned border should be protected from anyone that would even sneeze in it's direction.

Life by the Drop - SRV

This song was posted on by son's Fb page this morning. So, although my first son and daughter have dis-owned me and may never speak to me again, I take comfort in the fact that he listens to the music I love. He has the zest for life that I still feel. In the eight years that I was a part of his family I never saw feelings like that unless my son and I were cruising the country roads. I would sip my beer. He would drink his soda. And, we would enjoy having each other around. I never wanted to go home, because life was cold there. And, that is why I stayed drunk. In the years that he was growing up the connection we had stayed with me. I would be driving down an interstate 3000 miles away from him and know that he was sick or hurt. I knew when he almost drowned. I new when he was in a motorcycle wreck. I knew that he was in the bay area when that quake hit San Francisco, even though his home was in Manteca. That is the connection we had.

Until his death SRV was one of the greatest blues men on the planet. Thirty years ago I stopped listening to blues (except for 2 or 3 bands) because of where it took my soul, and because it makes my gut wrench with pain. I understand that part of the human experience is to feel pain. So, I understand that I am not the only one that has gone through this pain. But, back in those days I was full of self-pity. Now, I guess it's time to pull out a Stevie Ray Vaughn c.d. that I own, but have not listened to in about 10 years.

LOS ANGELES – The case of an alleged pimp suspected of abducting two teenage girls and keeping them captive while forcing them into prostitution could include dozens of other victims, authorities said Monday.
Police urged other possible victims of suspect Leroy Bragg to come forward.
Bragg, 34, was arrested Sept. 28 and charged with trafficking a minor, solicitation and other crimes in the alleged abduction of a 13-year-old girl.
He also is suspected of kidnapping a 14-year-old girl, though charges have not been filed in that case.
"We believe that Mr. Bragg had encounters with many of our young women in Los Angeles," police Capt. Ann Young said. "This is such a hideous crime. These young women ... are babies, basically."
Bragg has pleaded not guilty and remained jailed on $1.3 million bail. He had not yet been assigned a public defender. With previous burglary convictions, he could be sentenced to life under the three strikes law if convicted of the latest charges.
Police found the two girls while checking hotels southwest of downtown Los Angeles to see if managers had been properly documenting guests to make sure no one was renting rooms by the hour for use by prostitutes.
The girls told officers Bragg had kidnapped them, Young said.
"They are not street-wise," she said. "They may think they are when they leave home, but when they run into someone like Mr. Bragg, it changes their whole paradigm."
Bragg is suspected of keeping the girls captive, though officials did not give details. The father of one of the girls has said she was locked in a room for three or four days and given drugs.
The father also said his daughter had been forced to get a tattoo identifying her as Bragg's property under his alias, Snipe King.
One girl was returned to her family, the other was placed in foster care.
Pimps often tattoo girls with their name or a symbol as a way of asserting control, police Cmdr. Michael Moriarty said.
They frequently use the Internet to search for potential victims. Often, they reach out on social networking sites and make elaborate promises.
"They say come out with me, I can provide you with clothing, nice places," Moriarty said. "He will have other prostitutes that work with him that will help the recruitment process by saying what a great guy he is."

Why We Specialize

The reason photographers specialize in one or two photographic specialties is simply for marketing purposes. You have a better shot at leasing one of your 20,000 dog shots to a dog magazine publisher than you have of leasing one of your 200 dog shots, one of your 210 baseball shots, and one of your 300 auto show shots. Publishers look for, and collect, web sites of photographers who specialize in what they need because they are more apt to find what they need. Anything you shoot outside of your specialty has a much smaller chance of being marketable that your specialty work.

I speak from true experience on this subject. The sites that I now have on the internet show work in several "so called" specialties. This is because my portfolio is not large enough to worry about a specialty. However, I have been told by a couple of editors and photographers that I am at a point where I am probably waisting precious time by trying to sell from my entire portfoio as it is. So, I will soon be narrowing my subject matter down to no more than two specialties that I think will work well together. As my portfolio develops with these two specialties I should be able to one day choose the "one" subject that I would like to specialize in. Hopefully my profit market will turn out to also be the market I enjoy working in the most.
